9i Update 11/10/09

OH CRAP! Time has been going by so fast! Anyway, that Halo 3 ODST review was finished a few weeks ago, but the thing is that its not a Charismatic Corner. The review was for a local television station that is run by the local school system, which is really cool. Unfortunately, I dont think it will be available online for a while. I will need to work something out with the guys who run the station. In other news, Neo 9i will turn one year old on Saturday! I totally forgot that it was this close. I will hopefully have something for you guys on Saturday, but I cant make any promises. Sorry :(......BUT, I have been hard at work on a few things that I would love to share on the site, they're just not ready yet. Thats about it for now. Seeya!

9i Update 9/17/09

Let me just take a moment and apologize for the lack of updates recently. School has started back up for all of us and we've been really busy, but now, down to business. David's Charismatic Corner is making a comeback!!! After a summer long hiatus, I now have the motivation to make a new episode. The newest episode will be about Halo 3 ODST and it should be out before the month is over. Also, im beginning a project unlike anything I have ever done before. If I have time to post more about it, I certainly will, but I cant really make any promises at this point. Well, thats it for. Please keep visiting the site! I will try to update as much as possible within the next months. Tokyo Game Show is coming up, so theres something to look forward to. Seeya!

To follow up on Actblazer's announcement of the Mario Marathon, I found out about a Final Fantasy marathon currently going on, which I think is by the same people. This marathon is also for a good cause, and they're going through every main Final Fantasy game.

Dead Space
I just finished Dead Space the other day. My 360 is relatively new, but I will say that Dead Space is my favorite 360 game so far. It just had everything a good survival horror SHOULD have; riveting plot, disturbing enemies, great atmosphere, and you had to really manage your inventory. If you like survival horror games and haven't played Dead Space, I recommend that you go pick it up or rent it.

9i Update 6/28/09
So, I finally got back from my vacation. It was a whole lot of fun. A lot of things happened, such as the death of both Michael Jackson and Billy Mays, but all we can do is pray for their families for the losses. Personality deaths aside, the site has been slow on content recently. So while I was on vacation, I was busy working on what is possibly my biggest feature/article yet! I have taken so many pictures for it, that Im still trying to figure out how to present it. I went to many different places on my trip to make this segment, so for now, I will leave with this video. It is not made by me, but it should give you an idea of the places I have been to.

What is Sams Club thinking?
So the other day, I was at Sams Club, which is like a Costco, but owned by Walmart. I was looking through the video games and I found some odd things wrong with their displays.
The first thing I saw was Rock Revolution for Nintendo DS.
The front looks all normal, but the back is something different.
The back of the Rock Revolution cover is really the back cover for Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. Pretty weird. This is hard to miss, mainly the E 10+ rating on the front and the T rating on the back.
This next one is Mirror's Edge. I have known about this problem but now it has gotten a little out of hand. Every time I have went to this Sams Club the prices for Mirror's Edge have dropped to insane prices.
One weird thing is that between the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, there is an $11 price difference, and for all I know there shouldnt be a difference in the 2 versions that should cause this price difference. I told them about this a few weeks back, because come on, $22 for Mirror's Edge on Xbox 360? Thats awesome! When they went to go check the game, it turned out to be full price, which bummed me out. So now I went back Saturday and they never changed the prices. Out of all this confusion, I bought The Legendary Starfy for Nintendo DS for $28. Just thought I would like to point this out to anyone going to Sams Club. Later

So yeah, the website looks a little bigger, but this is just temporary. Dont be surprised if you constantly see different templates over the next few days. Im trying to find one that makes the site look a little professional and clean. Just a little heads up. OSU!

9i Update 4/13/09
Only two updates today. First, I have decided on a name for my biweekly show, "David's Charismatic Corner", and yes it is a Zero Punctuation reference. And speaking of the show, there wont be an episode this week, but will be back on schedule next week, so look out for that!

9i Update 3/26/09
Most of you people who actually go to this site dont know this but, my Street Fighter 4 review was actually aired on my High School's morning announcement TV show, V-TV. So far, the feedback that I have received about the review has been overwhelmingly positive and im pleased to announce that I will be doing this kinda thing Biweekly! The next episode will be about the Game Developers Conference (GDC) and the Independent Games Festival (IGF). The episode will appear online on either Tuesday or Thursday next week, so look out for that. Also, if you look at the top of the sidebar on the right, there will now be Twitter updates for the site! I update frequently on these kinds of things, so look out for that as well. I think thats it.

Quake Live Beta
You're given 2 choices on how you want to play, against people online or BOTS. Playing online against people is pretty messy, for me at least. When you want to join a match, it takes a long time to connect to the game depending on how many people are in the match. When you're finally in the match, the start of the match begins to stutter a lot, but that only happens for a few seconds. The matches themselves have little lag, but they tend to skip a lot. Even with these problems, the game is still a lot of fun to play. Playing with BOTS is absolutely flawless, so I tend to use that feature the most. I hope that when the finished game is given to the public that they fix these problems, but none the less, this game is amazing for a free online FPS. If you want to try and get into the beta, go to www.quakelive.com.

Soul Eater!
It's a great anime, and still running in Japan. Funimation announced on the last day of the year of 2008 that they would be doing a dub, but the original Japanese is definately going to be the best!
The main characters live in Death City, and go to Shibusen, a trade school dedicated to teaching people how to kill Kishin, demons who have abandoned the way of man. They're taught how to kill Kishin so that the world will be safe. THe school is run by SHinigami- the Grim Reaper himself!
There are two types of people at Shibusen- Meisters (Masters) and Weapons. Meisters are much like you and me, normal people who learn how to master weapon. Everything from guns to swords to scythes. Weapons themselves are not like us- they are, literally, weapons. Weapons can transform into they're genetically designated weapon at the snap of a finger. but obviously, they need someone to wield them or they'd just lie of the ground like a scrap of metal. Not fun.
The two main characters, Maka, a scythe meister, and Soul, a scythe weapon, are working towards the ultimate goal of Shibusen- creating a Deathscythe. When a weapon eats 99 Kishin souls and one soul of a witch, they become a deathscythe.
Death the Kid is son of the Shinigami himself, and a great character! OCD over symmetry and perfection, but tough as nails, he provides comic relief as well as key plot points and pure awesomeness!
Black Star is bitterly reminiscent of a very popular orange-wearing ninja whom EVERYONE should remember! He's a ninja assasin, master is several ninja tool weapons that his partner Tsubaki can tranform into, but he has an ego that's greater than the weight of the entire planet. No, not earth. Jupiter. They one difference between him and naruto, though: Naruto says he's all that, and he isn't. Black Star? He says he's all that- AND HE IS. He kicks all butt. He warded off the son of the shinigami WITH HIS HANDS IN HIS POCKETS. Black Star is great.
But of course, Soul is the best character of all. With odd red eyes and unusually sharp teeth, this sarcastic, wise-cracking weapon has me watching every episode giggling and crying. He'll make you laugh one minute, and cry the next when he does something you never saw coming to protect someone- Soul is the ultimate character. He even has hair to rival Cloud Strife's in odd dimenstionality.
ALso, on a side note- the Voice Actor for Soul is the same as the voice actor for Roxas in the japanese KH! His only two roles, this is a no-miss for ANY fan of ANY genre!
Soul eater - 11 out of ten!
